The Full Monty exposes you to the business intelligence that matters at the top of every week. Please sign up for our email updates to make sure you don't miss a thing. And please share this with your colleagues if you find it valuable.

[Editor's note: We're delayed by one day, due to the Independence Day holiday in the US.]

This doesn't sound creepy at all, does it? We're TV people; programmatic stands to gain; social sharing best practices; how a publication's reputation affects readers' judgments; Google and Twitter are betting on VR; Facebook says it's for friends first — and will track your location to suggest new ones to you; Snapchat is slashing ad prices — maybe to reach the 35+ crowd; Uber tracks its drivers; Lyft needs a financial lift; NHTSA opens an investigation on Tesla's Autopliot after a fatal crash; how a bot saved $4 million in costs; Apple vs. Spotify; the history of content marketing; you have no expectation of privacy on your home computer; the mindset of marketing technology; humor lessons from Plum; plus the chart of the week, our trivia challenge, podcast pick, a new limerick and more.

Virtually everything you need in business intelligence. If you’re on Flipboard, you can get these links — and those that didn't make the cut for publication — by subscribing to The Full Monty Magazine at

If you're around at 9:30 pm ET on Sunday evenings, you can get a preview of a couple of topics from the week's via the live video on Facebook. If not, you can always catch the replay here. No live video this week, due to the holiday in the US. Instead, please enjoy some fireworks.

Trivia question: Who was granted a new trial, thanks to a popular podcast?*

    Collaborative / Autonomous Economy

      • Lodging
        • Airbnb's new funding round of $1 billion now makes it the second most valuable startup in the US (following Uber, of course). The company is now valued at $30 billion.
        • With great sizes comes great headaches: Airbnb is suing San Francisco over the city's plan to fine the company for each unregistered listing. Aribnb claims it is a violation of federal law to require short-terms rentals to register with the city.

Zignal Labs Chart of the Week

The public relations battle for the Rio Olympics continues to rage, with lots of troubling issues. Among them a mutilated body washing up on a beach volleyball area and of course, the Zika virus. The disease has been in the news as fears mount about the ability of the Brazilian government to control it and the likely intense activity between athletes during the Games. The Zignal Labs overview of trending stories shows this would clearly be a concern with item #8 below.
